codes of ethics

These are the three that are meaningful to me.  I chose them since I want children from every culture feel comfortable in my class and I want to keep learning and cooperate with my coworkers to serve better quality education.

I-1.10
To ensure that each child’s culture, language, ethnicity, and family structure are recognized and valued in the program.

I want to make sure that I am great at this because of my background and experience.  This can be my strength as a teacher.

I-2.1
To be familiar with the knowledge base related to working effectively with families and to stay informed through continuing education and training.

I want to be a “professional” with knowledge so that I can help families with children

I-3A.2
To share resources with co-workers, collaborating to ensure that the best possible early childhood care and education program is provided.

I want to be a great teacher and want to work with great teaches so I would like share resources with co-workers.

  1. I agree that sharing resources is key. I have 20 employees and I constantly provide them with opportunities to share ideas at meetings. I remind them that we all make the program what it is, and that every one has something to offer. It is because every employee has a variety of strengths, gifts, and interests that all the children are able to benefit even though they have different teachers.

  2. I love that you chose I-1.10 as a meaningful ethic to you. What are you doing or going to do to implement this in your class? I celebrate each child by having this labeled in their language and celebrating their holidays.

  3. I agree that it is important to stay informed in education and to be able to offer different resources to our families. That is something we have definitely learned abot in this course and seen the impact it can make on children, families and even coworkers.
